&& the best way to make it through
It was once again one of those nice summers, and it was the second day of school, and the wind muttered things through the branches of the trees. But, Lucy didn’t feel the same about it anymore, she felt like she was looking through the eyes of someone else. The pure color of the white flowers falling on to the lake did not excite her anymore, and the IMS was not funny anymore. Everything that used to stand for her youth seemed to have vanished the day her father had died during the summer trying to keep after the school while all the students were away for their summer break.
Of course, being the daddy’s girl that she was, she was there with him to help him out with cleaning the common room up for next year and other such things. The day had also been very peaceful, and the wind was just a little gustier than it was today. She pictured it back in her mind when she was on the first floor cleaning one of the windows without using magic, and seeing her father out by the lake, making sure everything was in order for the students. He looked over and saw some people that were heading over there, and he seemed to know them and gave them a polite wave. But, she had a feeling herself that they were not as kind as they first seemed.
Lucy was not wrong, as she saw them violently attack her father, and she ducked away so they would think that she was not there. She felt her heart beating out of her chest as they walked away into the distance… and she finally walked out when she saw that they were gone. The girl rushed to her father, and tried to shake him awake, but to no avail, and she heard her own screams that make the birds get up from the trees and panic away. She felt the tears on her face, and the eyes of fear that she had felt when she had looked down at her father, who she knew by his glazed eyes was gone from here forever from then on…
